Evidence for Learning
Gosh what a long time since I posted on here! Many thanks to all of you who came to our workshops today. We do hope you found them useful. I have uploaded 'What to Expect, When?'. This is the parents version of the 'Development Matters document, which we use to help us with our planning and to track your child's progress. Both documents can be found online, if you have trouble with our links.
If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to let me know.
The weather has turned cold and frosty, but I hope everyone who came to the first parent's evening of the year had a warm welcome. It was great to see so many of you and to talk about your lovely children. I look forward to seeing many more of you tomorrow evening.
Monday 19th September
We had our first outside P.E. lesson today. The children all tried very hard to change by themselves and I'm very proud of their efforts.
A number of issues came to light: firstly can you ensure your child has their full P.E. kit. For what they need, please see the notice board and the letter, sent home today; secondly could you practice pulling off and putting on jumpers, as many of the boys struggled with this. A number of the girls struggled with pinafores, blouses and tights, as well.
Tuesday 6th September
What a fab first day we've all had. It was lovely to see everyone and after a bit of a nervous start, for some, we all had fun exploring the Reception unit and getting to know everyone. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Our Class Has a New Name!
All of the classes in school have been given names, using letters of the alphabet. It has been decided to use local place names. The 3 Reception classes will be A, B & C. We are B, so our name is....
The other classes in Reception are Ashbourne and Castleton.
If you need to contact our school this school year, or a relative needs to, you can use this name as well as mine (Mrs Gartside), to identify the class your child is in.
