Year 6

We wish all of our children, parents and visitors,

a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.

Mrs Carvell (Quarndon) and Mrs Heer (Rowsley)

wish you a very warm welcome.

Our aim is for us to achieve excellence together, helping each and every child reach their full potential, developing their unique talents through fun, creative, inspiring lessons and activities.

In Year 6, we will nurture and develop your child's independence and confidence to ensure that he/she is fully prepared for the

expectations of secondary school and ready for the future.

We ask that every child reads at home at least five times per week. We would also be grateful if you could initial or sign in your child's reading record each time he/she reads at home. This reading is in addition to their daily directed reading time at school, and will ensure that together we maximise their potential in reading. Reading Records will be

checked on a weekly basis.

If they are not able to achieve this, we are happy to support your child by providing additional reading

time at school during lunchtimes.

Thank you.

M Carvell

It is important that you plan your homework time well and avoid leaving it until the last minute.

This will help you to report difficulties early, so that we have time to help you, and that the

standard of your work is not rushed and so meets expectation.
