The Reading Machine 1

Practise reading these simple words. How quickly can you read them? Some of them are real words and some are not.

Today we are going to practise the 'ear' trigraph. Have you noticed that it is a word and a phoneme(sound)?

Watch the two videos to help you.

ear Words | Phase 3 Phonics | Trigraph

Let's sound out some 'ear' words! If you would like your children to sound out independently, simply mute the video. 🚨 SUBSCRIBE https://www.youtube.com/litt...

Here are some words for you to read:

ear

fear

hear

gear

near

tear

year

clear

beard

Write a list of the words and some sentences e.g.

I can hear with my ear.

I am 5 this year.

Or, you might prefer to complete the 'ear' worksheet.

You could make these big ears and go on a sound walk. What can you hear with your ears? They look like the giant's ears from Jack and the Beanstalk. Can you pretend to be the giant and say "Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum watch out everyone here I come."
