Fun with Fractions
This week we are going to use the maths scheme we use at St. John's called White Rose Maths. All you need to do is click on the link below, then click on year 2 to view the daily slides and worksheets. Each lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child. If you can't print the worksheets, discuss the answers with your child or write the answers in your home school book. You can open all these activities on your smart phone too, which I know will help you all lots.
Practical activity ideas:
Try a pizza night! Enjoy a pizza and with the help of a grown up, try cutting the pizza into half then quarters. You could even make your own pizza and use different toppings on each half. This activity is perfect for reminding children about the fractions work we have already done in school, and also great for Friday's lesson when looking at equivalence of a half and 2 quarters. Enjoy.
