This week we are going to internalise our text using the text map. (Parents you will support using the written text but please do not show the children yet.).

We will continue to explore vocabulary.


Rehearse the text using the text map- silently, quickly, silently, in pairs, or in chunks.

Persuade me game : persuade me why;

  • A snowman should come into the kitchen out of the cold.
  • A dragon should stop eating children.


Now read Katie’s party.

How would you feel if that was your party? Was the passage positive and made you feel good or was it negative? How could we improve it? Which words would we replace with positive vocabulary? (change adjectives and adverbs but nouns are not altered)


Children re-write the Katie’s Party passage using positive language.
