WELCOME to Mrs Christie's Class Page 2019-2020
Physical Education (PE)
My class has PE on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The children are expected to have a go at getting changed themselves. It would be great if you could practise these skills at home by letting your child get dressed themselves in the morning and at bedtime into their pyjamas by themselves. Let your child practise putting on their own socks and shoes as often as possible. Please make sure all clothes and shoes in PE kits are named.
Douglas the dog!
Each Friday one child will be able to take home our class pet, Douglas the dog. He will have a diary for your child to add photos, drawings and writing in. Please make sure Douglas is back in school on Monday so we can find out what he has done over the weekend.
All the children will have a turn, so please don't worry if your child has not received Douglas yet. He will be coming home with every child at some point this year!

We had our first PE lessons this week, where we all got changed. I was impressed with how well the children got ready and how they looked after their belongings. Just a reminder- all children need a tracksuit (jogging bottoms and a hoody/tracksuit top). If you look on the Reception class page, on the Noticeboard, there are details and pictures of what they need. This week was lovely weather so we just wore T-shirts.
Have a look at the photos of our outside PE lesson - we had such fun
Could all those who have not yet brought in a named pair of wellies please do so, as soon as possible. These will be left at school, being returned at half term, if you need them. We want to be able to explore the school grounds, including the field, but the grass is wet. They will also be used to complete activities outside, even if it's raining. Thankyou.
We have had a lovely first week at school. The children have settled in well. They have been involved in lots of different activities including; painting, collage, playdough, role play, construction, drawing, maths, singing, stories, rhymes. We had fun inside and outside. We also went on a walk around school to familiarise the children with the whole school.
I'm looking forward to next week with my new class. See you all next week.
Our Class Has a New Name!
All of the classes in school have been given names, using letters of the alphabet. It has been decided to use local place names. The 3 Reception classes will be A, B & C. We are A, so our name is....
The other classes in Reception are Buxton and Castleton.
If you need to contact our school this school year, or a relative needs to, you can use this name as well as mine (Mrs Christie), to identify the class your child is in.
Not long now until the start of term. I am looking forward to having a fun year with my new class. Keep an eye out on this page for information and photos. Please have a look at the links on our Reception page - there is a lot of information which we hope you will find useful.
See you all on Tuesday.
Physical Education (PE)
As soon as the children are settled into school, we will begin our weekly PE sessions. Indoor PE will be on a Wednesday, and outdoor PE will be on a Thursday for my class. The children will be expected to have a go at getting changed themselves. It would be great if you could practise these skills at home by letting your child get dressed themselves in the morning and at bedtime into their pyjamas by themselves. Let your child practise putting on their own socks and shoes as often as possible.
Please make sure all clothes and shoes in PE kits are named.
