Literacy

Today we are revising the 'igh' sound. Can you think of words with the 'igh' sound and write them in your book? Here are some to help you.

high

sigh

fight

night

light

might

right

sight

tight

Now ask your grown up to help you write two sentences in your book, using a word with the 'igh' sound. Here is one to get you started:

It is dark at night.

Don't forget to visit Geraldine Giraffe on Youtube to see what 'igh' objects she finds.

Also, play a game on the  Phonics Play website.

Egg Patterns

Can you make a pattern on an egg today? You could ask a grown up to hard boil an egg for you. Or you could use the eggs we have attached to this page. Alternatively, you could draw your own egg in your book to decorate with patterns. It would also be fun to draw egg patterns outside, with chalk on the floor.  You could do the patterns with chalk or with natural objects that you find outside e.g stones and twigs.
