Welcome to Year 1!

Hello and welcome to Year 1!  We're always busy in Year 1 so visit your child's class page regularly to see what the children have been up to. We're really looking forward to lots of fun learning this year!

Strange sightings have been reported over St John's Primary School and Nursery. A crash site has been located in school and the children are busy investigating and gathering evidence.

Our Year 1 Butterfly and Moth Hunt.

On Friday 12th January, Year 1 had a very special visitor. The Queen came to visit! We spent all morning getting ready, preparing the food and making flags to wave. We grated the cheese, spread the butter and jam, chopped banana and grapes, sliced carrot sticks and decorated biscuits. We wore our smartest clothes and waited for her . We waved flags and clapped when she arrived! We had lots of questions to ask her. She told us all about the Crown Jewels that are kept safely locked away in the Tower of London. She told us all about her Corgis and horses. She told us that Buckingham Palace has many, many rooms inside it. She told us that she meets Teresa May, the Prime Minister, every week for an important meeting. And finally she told us that she was very excited about Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding. We finished the celebrations by enjoying an afternoon tea party. What a wonderful afternoon...

Why not try some games to support learning?
