How We Embrace Ofsted to Celebrate Our Work

At St. John's, we are proud of the wonderful things that happen here every day, and our Ofsted inspections give us a chance to celebrate that work. We see Ofsted inspections as an opportunity to reflect on the excellent work happening across our school every day. Rather than viewing inspection as a one‑off event, we use it to highlight the strengths that define our community — the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the supportive partnership we share with families.

By engaging openly with the inspection process, we celebrate the practices that make our school special: high‑quality teaching, a rich and inclusive curriculum, strong pastoral care, and a culture where every child is known, valued and encouraged to thrive. The feedback we receive helps us recognise what we do well and gives us further confidence in the direction of our ongoing improvement work.

Our commitment is simple: to use Ofsted’s findings not just as a measure of performance, but as a celebration of our achievements and a springboard for continued growth.

Most Recent Inspection

We are pleased to be able to share our most recent Ofsted inspection report below. The section 5 inspection took place on the 14th and 15th February 2023.

Staff and governors are pleased that all the work that our children do and their great attitude towards learning was recognised. They also recognised the work of staff and governors in helping children achieve their full potential. Ofsted have agreed with our self-evaluation and that of the Local Authority, in that we are a good school and have highlighted lots of these good practices in their report. We are also pleased that Ofsted have also used our own self-evaluation and discussions with our teachers during the inspection to highlight some areas that we already were and will continue working on to help ensure continued improvement at St. John’s.

Parents of children at St. John's are able to tell Ofsted about us. Click on the link below to be taken to the Ofsted parent view page. You will need to register with an email address and then the questionnaire will ask for your opinions, with a choice of responses, on 12 aspects of life at St. John's. Thank you.
