Carbon Reduction

We are pleased to be working with Lets Go Zero to help us reduce our Carbon footprint.

Monitoring our energy use and carbon emissions

The table below shows that in January 2026 we celebrated our lowest ever DEC score (a way of measuring how much carbon you produce). You can see how we have gradually reduced the amount of energy (glass and electricity) we have used since 2010.

Work towards a positive environmental impact

  • All of our waste is sorted in food waste and recycling. We recycle all paper, cardboard, plastic and metals with recycling points at locations all around school.
  • In 2025 95% of our internal lights were replaced with LED bulbs.
  • Children are encouraged to scoot to school and use our scooter park. We provide regular safe scooting lessons for children. See our Travel Smart page. CLICK HERE
  • In 2025 we closed Laund Nook to cars before and after school on half a dozen days as part of the 'Safer Streets' initiative to help families enjoy a safe walk to school with no traffic. CLICK HERE
  • In 2025 we had SUD planters installed to help us prevent localised flooding. What is a SUD planter - CLICK HERE.
