Whole School Photograph - On Thursday 15th October we look forward to an exciting morning when we welcome Tempest Photography to St John's. They will be here to take a new whole school photograph celebrating the start of our new chapter!

Harvest Festival 2026 - Autumn time has arrived and once again it is the time of year when we look forward to our Harvest Festival Celebration. This will be at St Peter's Church on Thursday 22nd October at 9:45 and will be led by our Year 3 and Year 4 children.

As part of our tradition, we are once again collecting donations to support Padley (Derbyshire) and Hope for Belper, who will distribute them to local individuals and families in need.

If you are able to contribute, please bring your donations to the school office between Monday 19th October and Thursday 22nd October ready for collection/delivery following our harvest service.

Instrumental Music Lesson - We are delighted to offer children the opportunity to learn a musical instrument in school. We currently have specialist teachers offering lessons in flute, recorder, violin, guitar and brass.

Most instrumental lessons are available from Year 4, as instruments provided through the Music Partnership are not available before this age. However, recorder lessons are available from Year 2.

There are also subsidies available for new starters and for families receiving Universal Credit, Free School Meals (FSM), and for Looked After Children (LAC).

If your child is interested in learning an instrument, please contact the School Office and we will be happy to provide further information. 🎶

The Big Question - The "Big Question" is shared with children every week to spark critical thinking, cultivate empathy, and build communication skills

Why do some people have more than others, and is that fair?

AVSSP Holiday Sports Camps - Amber Valley School Sport Partnership (AVSSP) are delighted to be working with Places Leisure to once again provide exciting Holiday Sports Camps, in the upcoming October Half Term. Holiday camps run from 8.30am to 3pm on Monday 26th to Thursday 29th October with places available to pupils aged 5 to 11 years.
