    Update - Monday 4th January @ 21:10

    Good evening everyone,

This evening’s address to the nation by the Prime Minister, and the speed with which the change to schools is expected, has, I’m sure, left you feeling a range of emotions. I hope that the following information will help you and reduce any worries you have and help you to sleep as well as you can do this evening.

It was clear that, from tomorrow, primary schools will only be providing education on site for key worker and vulnerable children and all other children will be taught using remote learning.

As we only have this evening to distribute a message to parents, and reduce the anxiety and worry in the community, it is our intention for a message to reflect this announcement and, therefore, tomorrow, we will be relying on our parents to adhere to this guidance. More specific information about who classifies as key worker and vulnerable children will be sent out to parents tomorrow as this evening’s information is clarified with more detail and this will inform what/who we teach from Wednesday onwards. Roger will be sending information out to parents in the next few minutes and will be available for you to access on the school website noticeboard - https://www.stjohnsbelper.co.uk/stream/noticeboard/headline/1/-//

As a result of this, and the difficulty confirming exact numbers at such short notice, we need all staff on site tomorrow. However, it is important for you to share with us, as soon as possible, if you have been identified by your medical team as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable and therefore MUST work from home.

Tomorrow morning, myself and Roger will work to provide you with a more informed plan for the days and weeks ahead.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, or Roger, by phone or email if you have any concerns that can’t wait until tomorrow morning – we will be available for you until 9:30 p.m. this evening. There is no expectation for work to be uploaded this evening in readiness for tomorrow. The message to parents will reflect this.

    Best wishes to you all.

    Mieke
