English: Short Burst Writing
Follow through today's power-point (pdf below), then have a go at creating your own spider-graphs of words to describe your scary character (the old man in the original story). Can you describe some of their features - their eyes, hair, hands..... What about their clothes?
Once you have a few words, put them into sentences, to help create tension and action.
Try to use some similes or metaphors (ask your parents to find out what these are) e.g. Their leather skin stretched into a tight smile and their eyes glittered like diamonds.
What about using fronted adverbials (as per last Wednesday)?
Leather skin stretched, he had a sinister, tight smile and eyes glittering like diamonds.
