Week 3

This week we have been learning all about Winter! We started by looking at the changes in the seasons from Autumn to Winter such as the weather and how it gets darker earlier and talked about what we need to do to keep ourselves warm in the winter! The children had lots of ideas about wearing boots, coats, gloves, scarves and hats. We then drew around someone in our class to make our winter man which we collaged with winter clothes!

We have also looked at places in the world where it is always cold such as the Arctic and Antarctica! We have been looking at maps, atlases and globes to find these places on our Earth and talking about the climate there. We have also looked at the animals that live there and how they keep themselves warm!

In Maths we have been learning about capacity and have explored measuring whether an object is heavy or light and how much different sized containers can hold. We started the week by making our own salt dough and measuring our ingredients! We have also had lots of fun exploring full and empty with fake snow on our Maths table!

A very Wintery week!
