Bright Lights, Big City

This project teaches children about the physical and human characteristics of the United Kingdom, including a detailed exploration of the characteristics and features of the capital city, London.

We have been learning about Belper. We used Google Earth to find different landmarks. We drew maps that included physical and human features.

We investigated how vehicles move. We looked at the chassis and axel and then we made vehicles from k-nex.

We designed our own London taxis and used carboard boxes to start making them.

We decided how we wanted to attach the axels. We measured and then used a saw to cut the dowling to the correct length.

Finshed! We were very proud of our taxis.

Of course we had to test them out!

We went outside to sign for signs of spring. Then we made predictions about what would change over the coming weeks and months.
