Each week, Year 5 children are given spellings to learn for a test on Fridays, a Reading Comprehension activity and a Maths activity which consolidates the week's learning.
Work should be handed in on Thursday along with Reading Records which are checked for number of times read at home. As a school, our minimum expectation is that the children read at least 5 times a week. Year Five children can record their own reading, but we would kindly ask parents to please initial each entry.
If you are absent from school on Friday when the sheets are handed out, it is your responsibility to collect homework and spellings on your return to school. Spare copies are available in both Year 5 classrooms.
If you are having any difficulties completing your work, please talk to your class teacher who will be very happy to help.
