Hot weather this week

The hot weather this week at school means that we are all making sure we stay sun safe and cool.

Please ensure that you apply sun-cream to your children before they come to school and ensure that they -

  • Have a sun hat that provides complete head and neck protection
  • Bring a water bottle, we can refill these in school during the day. Bottles need to have sport caps so that if they are knocked over they don't spill. We only allow water in these bottles not squash.
  • Coats and jumpers will not help children stay cool in hot weather. T-shirts and loose fitting clothes are more appropriate.

At point of writing (5pm on Wednesday 18th June) there are no hot weather warnings in place for the rest of the week or the weekend. CLICK HERE. We will continue to monitor the MET office website to ensure that we follow any guidance should a weather warning for hot weather be put in place and adjust what we do in school accordingly.

We are therefore still looking forward to the PTFA colour run tomorrow night. The aim of this event is to get messy. It is not a race, it is not timed, the slower you run, the messier you get, the more time you have having colour thrown at you and getting hosed down with water. The PTFA have also ensured that there are also extra gazebos in place. Everyone who takes part gets a medal regardless of how long they take.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
