Supporting your child learn their sounds at home

There are lots of things you can do to support your child in learning their sounds...

1. Every time your child learns a new set of sounds, he/she will bring home a sheet so you can practise with them. Say the sound, add an action and show your child the sound as you make it.

2. Go on a hunt around the house to find something beginning with the sound they are learning. Play eye spy with the sound they are learning.

3. Practise writing the sound, if your child isn't keen on writing with a pen or pencil yet, they can write it with their finger in a tray of rice/ sand/ glitter or make it out of playdough/ cookie dough!
