It's been a busy New Year so far. Mrs Richardson has got her suit case out and started packing, buying and making resources as well as shopping for snacks to take.
Only 6 days to go until she flies to India on the 10th January.
Lots to do and organise both for in school and for the trip.
The weather in Kolkata as she leaves on Friday is looking warm and sunny 🌞
Preperations are really starting to take shape now for the trip to Kolkata.
Mrs Richardson has had two Saturday morning meetings with the group of teachers from other schools around Derbyshire who are involved in the same project. It was a time to plan what she would be teaching and also organise logistics for the trip. We had an early start one Saturday and shared breakfast together before we began.
The children at school have all been busy writing and making post cards for Mrs Richardson to take out to Kolkata and give to the families, children and staff of Cathedral Relief Service.
The Kolkata Companions led collective worship this week - thinking about generosity around the world.
The group have designed posters which have been displayed around school reminding all the children about Christmas Jumper day on the 18th December. The money raised will all go to Scott Lane School and the sports day that Mrs Richardson has been asked to organise on the final Saturday of her visit.
The temperature in Kolkata at the moment is reaching up to 26 degrees with some rain forecast over the next few days. Christmas day looks like it will be 26 degress with some cloud but no rain.
