For some parents, talking to their children about puberty can be difficult. Some may feel embarrassed or feel unsure what is the appropriate level of information to give their child. A recent study found that "82% of parents said that their children were asking 'awkward' questions and 27% said they sometimes find it difficult or embarrassing to answer". Feeling embarrassed yourself, can make it more difficult for you to answer you child's questions.
If you would like some guidance and support on how to talk to your child about puberty, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher, Mrs Girling (RSE lead) or Mrs Cooper (Health and welfare officer). We have books we can recommend or we can email you a booklet to share with your child at home.
