What a busy week! We've marked three special days in school this week...
On Monday we came to school in our odd socks and learnt about respecting other people by using kind hands, feet and words. We talked about what to do if someone was bullying them and that they needed to say stop and tell a trusted adult.
On Tuesday the children each made a poppy and stood brilliantly on the playground with the rest of the school for the two minute silence at 11 o’clock.
This week our project focus has been Goldilocks and Three Bears.
We taste tested different porridge to see which was our favourite. The children had to vote to let me know which was their favourite - plain or golden syrup or fruit. We made a human bar graph to show our findings and golden syrup was the clear favourite! We also made a mask of our favourite character from the story.
We have been using props to retell our pathway to write book The Three Little Pigs. We have been counting objects and matching them to the correct numeral 1,2 or 3.
In RE we are learning about celebrations and this week we introduced our new big question “Why do Christians perform nativity plays?”. The children found out who the main characters in the Nativity story are.
The children were fantastic on Friday looking brilliant in their spots, fancy dress, Pudsey t-shirts or ears. Many thanks for your donations - Mr Averis will announce how much we raised in his blog. We also loved choosing our cake - they were super tasty!
Have a restful weekend after such a busy week,
Mrs Girling & Mrs Higgs
