What a busy week!
On Tuesday we enjoyed a whole day dedicated to science. We began by sharing the story “The Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business.” This led us to explore different types of animal poo to decide whether it belonged to a herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore. The children learned lots of fascinating facts about moles, and in the afternoon we went hunting for their favourite snack—worms!
The children asked lots of thoughtful questions and showed great curiosity about the world around them.
The children have also been acting out and creating their own pirate stories. Mrs Richardson made one to model the process, and then we created a story together using props. Afterwards, the children used large sheets of paper to plan and write their own exciting pirate adventures.
We listened to “Cave Baby” by Julia Donaldson and learned about prehistoric artwork found on the walls of caves. The children then created their own pieces using oil pastels and charcoal.
In maths, we have been exploring and naming 3D shapes. Can you look around at home and find a cylinder, cube, cuboid, and sphere?
Forest School Friday was brilliant today. The children used sticks and clay to make 2D shapes.

We had a wonderful windy session today!
First the children explored making 2D shapes using sticks and clay. The children concentrated with determination to make the shapes.
Then we made ribbon streamers to explore the direction of the wind, how quickly it changed and to develop our gross motor movements running around and letting the ribbons flow behind us.
