Modern Baptism

Baptism:

Like may faiths, Christians use water as a symbol to clean and purify.

Many children are baptised, as a way of welcoming them into the family of God.  When they are older they have a Confirmation or First Holy Communion, to repeat the promises made for them when they were babies.

Other Christians wait until they are old enough to choose for themselves and have an adult baptism.
