Information for Parents

The Princess of Wales recently launched "Shaping us" this is their new campaign that highlights the importance of early education.  The first five years of a child's life shapes their future as an adult.

The video below called 'Layla's story' was part of this launch.

Shaping Us is our new campaign to highlight the importance of early childhood. Watch this video to find out how and why our early childhood shapes the adults we become. #ShapingUs

Why has oral health been included in the new Statutory Framework?

Good health habits need to be formed from an early age. Tooth decay is largely preventable, but it is still a large problem among young children.

We provide opportunities for the children to practise using a tooth brush and talking about why keeping out teeth clean and brushing twice a day is important.

Our indoor PE lesson in the school hall is on a Thursday morning. Mrs Garbutt will be teaching the children for this session. Your child does not need a full PE kit until the Summer 1 term. At the moment we are getting the children used to a new surrounding, taking their shoes and socks off and putting them back on independently! Please practise this at home.

If your child is staying for their lunch, please make sure the portion size is small, they only have 30 minutes before the afternoon session begins.

We would recommend that you only pack 5 or less items. Here are a few ideas

 - Two squares of a sandwich

 - A yogurt

 - Fruit ready to eat

 - A small pot of vegetables washed and ready to eat

 - A small pot of pasta

 - A small wrap cut in half, with the filling that your child likes

Just think small. Try to avoid unhealthy foods such a chocolate bars or biscuits and crisps. The website below give you a few alternative healthier suggestions.

The school will invoice you for the £2 charge per day.
