Watch youTube and listen to the Tricky words songs. Make flash cards with tricky words on and revise throughout the week.
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday:
This week we are learning the sounds x, y, z. Watch Geraldine the Giraffe teach a new sound a day. What objects can you find around your home beginning with those sounds? Practise writing the sounds in the air (use the Read Write Inc alphabet sheets sent home a few weeks ago to help with letter formation).
Thursday:
Practise sounds taught this week; x, y, z
Write the letters x, y, z on large sheets of paper. Mix up objects beginning with those sounds. Now support your child in placing the objects on the correct letter sound.
Friday
Today's task is to complete the phonics worksheet. Look at the pictures and ask your grown up to help you read the sounds. Now match the sound to the correct picture. In the next box, have a go at writing the whole word. What sounds can you hear?
