Mrs Christie

My name is Mrs Christie.

I am an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) class teacher. I have worked at St John's since  January 2002, as a class teacher. Before that I worked at many schools in Derbyshire as a supply teacher, teaching different year groups. When I first started teaching I worked at a primary school in Nottingham for several years.  I then had a career change for a while. I travelled and worked in France for a few years. Since working at St John's I have always taught EYFS 2 (Reception). I love teaching this age group. I am really looking forward to meeting the children joining us in EYFS 2 in September and getting to know them. Our new EYFS block is a fantastic environment in which to play and learn. As soon as I walk into my new classroom everyday it puts a smile on my face. I hope that your children will really enjoy it too.

A little bit about myself...

I have lived in Belper for over 20 years. I have one son, James, who lives in Japan. He teaches English in a language school.  Last year, we were very lucky to be able to visit him in Japan and explore such an amazing country.  We love to travel in our camper van, visiting many countries in Europe.  When I am at home I enjoy reading, singing and listening to music.
