Do you know what an adverb is?
Today we are going to find out. Then we are going to use 'fronted adverbials'. This language may sounds scary, but actually isn't bad at all!
Begin by watching the BBC Bite Size clip about fronted adverbials, then follow the power-point/pdf.

Take a look in your reading book. Can you see any examples? What about the text of Adventure at Sandy Cove?
Can you sort out these fronted adverbials into 3 piles, then record them on the sheet, or draw a table with 3 columns and add them in?
Can you put a few into sentences? You could say them to an adult, or write them down.
