This week we have continued to think about our family community. The children have talked about their families and who is special to them. We have also been painting members of our families and using stones to create family pictures.
We also invited our mums, dads, grans and grandads to come and join us for a Mouse Club stay and play lunch. The children were able to show their grown up just how independent they are becoming in just 3 weeks. The children loved making a bed for their mouse 🐭 and making and eating a cheese mouse.
We have also enjoyed singing lots of number songs that count backwards from 5. We enjoyed pretending to be the five little speckled frogs and used the puppets to act it out.
In Peace at Last we have been talking about the bear's house and what rooms Daddy bear goes to when he can't sleep. We then drew the house.
We have also been focusing on name writing and scissor skills this week.
At forest schools this week we started with our active maths lesson going on an item hunt. The children were asked to collect a different number of objects, sizes, shapes and textures. Then they were all given a ball of clay to make a member of their family using natural materials such as sticks, leaves and conkers. They were very focused and we all had a brilliant time together.
