Week 3

We have continued learning about the story of The Three Little Pigs, and the children are starting to write some amazing words and captions using the graphemes they have been taught.

We also received a letter from the Three Billy Goats Gruff! The troll had smashed the bridge down, and the children worked in teams to build a new, stronger one. We built lots of bridges outside too and practised our positional language.

This week, we have also been shape detectives, looking for circles and triangles. We explored and used materials to create our own Kandinsky-inspired pictures.

The children are taking turns to be our class photographer for the website, and we have some great pictures to share with you.

What an exciting afternoon at Forest School!

Today, the children enjoyed a magical outdoor experience filled with learning and adventure. We gathered around the campfire to toast marshmallows, taking time to learn important fire safety rules. The crackling flames kept us cosy on a cold, frosty afternoon, creating a wonderful sense of togetherness.

Our main challenge was inspired by the classic tale The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Working in teams, the children used problem-solving skills and plenty of creativity to build a bridge strong enough for everyone to cross. It was fantastic to see their cooperation and determination in action!

Exploring the woodland was another highlight. The children discovered fascinating natural features and were thrilled to find a real badger set—what an amazing glimpse into wildlife!

Forest School continues to give our children opportunities to learn, play, and grow in confidence while connecting with nature.
