Week 4

This week, we’ve been learning all about friendship. We explored questions like: What is a friend? and How can we be good friends to each other? We also revisited the meaning of community and talked about how we all belong and support one another.

Together, we created a friendship poster and made special friendship bracelets to give to our chosen friends — a lovely way to celebrate kindness and connection.

In our creative learning, we discovered the three primary colours: red, blue, and yellow. The children had lots of fun experimenting with colour mixing to see what new colours they could make!

We also worked in pairs to retell the story Peace at Last. After that, we designed and built houses we would love to live in — and the children’s creations were absolutely amazing!

we mix the colours together.

Wet and Wonderful Forest School Fun!
Our Reception children had an incredible time during a rainy forest school session, turning the weather into a creative opportunity. Using powder paint in the primary colours—red, blue, and yellow—they mixed the rainwater to create vibrant paints. The children explored colour mixing with curiosity and joy, painting trees and leaves around the site. It was amazing to see them so engaged, experimenting with shades and combinations, and expressing themselves through nature-inspired art. A truly magical moment of learning through play and exploration!
