This week, we have been learning about people who help us in our community.
On Tuesday, a vet, doctor and a police officer came to school to tell us all about their important jobs and how they help others.
On Friday, a local vicar visited us to explain the different ways they support people in the community and what they do at St Peter’s Church.
We had lots of fun in our role play areas, pretending to be police officers, dentists, hairdressers, doctors, nurses, and firefighters. We also made maps of our local community, adding key places we know like our school, St Peter’s Church, the River Gardens, and the shops.
In maths, we practised sorting and matching buttons and socks.
In PE we were learning how to make a tuck, star and straight position, freezing in these positions when told.
WOW!!! What a week!

The children had another fantastic week exploring in Forest School. As part of our project on People Who Help Us, the children created their own conker people—each one representing a different helper such as a police officer, firefighter, vicar, or hairdresser. This creative activity encouraged the children to think about the roles these people play in our community, while also developing their fine motor skills through threading. It was a lovely blend of imagination and skill-building!
