Week 6

Oh no! Who made all this mess?

Over the weekend, Teddy made a terrible mess in our classroom! The other toys saw him throwing toys, eating biscuits, and dropping crumbs everywhere. He even left floury paw prints all over the home corner.

We spent time talking to Teddy about what it means to be a good member of our classroom community and helped him clean up the mess.

Teddy then sent us a card to say sorry—and some biscuits for us to decorate!

In maths, we’ve been learning about more and less, and we practised sharing biscuits with Teddy to make it fair for everyone.

We also explored manipulating paper in the primary colours to create exciting 3D artwork!

Forest School Fun – A Magical Afternoon Outdoors!

This week, Reception had another incredible adventure at Forest School! 🌿✨

As soon as we arrived, the children were fascinated by the freshly mowed grass. Their curiosity was so infectious that we paused our original plans to explore this natural wonder together. What followed was a spontaneous burst of teamwork and creativity — we built a giant grass mound that quickly transformed into what the children called a “grass man”! It was enormous, and everyone contributed with such enthusiasm and joy.

Afterwards, we took inspiration from Andy Goldsworthy, the renowned nature artist, and created our own beautiful outdoor art using leaves, sticks, conkers and of course, grass. The children showed incredible focus and imagination, and their creations were truly stunning.

It was another magical time together — full of wonder, collaboration, and creativity. 🌱💚
