Week 6

This week we have been learning about people who help us in our community.

The fire engine came and it was great to try on their safety gear, climb inside the engine and learn about their job helping the community. On Tuesday  Rev. Anne visited to talk about her job and how she helps people in the Belper community. She also read her favourite story from the bible to the children "The Lost Sheep". On Thursday a vet and a police officer came to school to tell us about their jobs. The children loved standing on the weighing scales and stroking the guinea pigs.

We also enjoyed lots of role play activities pretending to be a police officer, dentist, hairdresser, doctor, nurse or fire officer. We also made maps of our local community adding on key places we know like school, St Peter's, the river gardens and shops.

Our outdoor focus this week has been learning how to ride and negotiate spaces on our bikes and trikes. In maths we were sorting and matching button and socks.

WOW!!!! What a week!
