Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
In 2024 we ran a safer street Road Closure on Laund Nook. On the 20th June Laund Nook was closed at the start of the day and the end of the day for school traffic. We received lots of support for this and many families fed back that it was a great, safe way to start and end the school day.
We are considering running a sequence of similar days in March and hope to have 4 'Walking Wednesdays' when we will repeat the safer street work we did in June. These will take place on March the 5th, 12th 19th and 26th.

The Kolkata Companions helped lead collective worship on Monday this week to the whole school where they spoke about generosity around the world. The children did a brilliant job reminding us all about Christmas jumper day on Wednesday.
All the children in school looked fantastic in their jumpers, and we raised an amazing £250.80 for Scott Lane School in Kolkata, India.
Mrs Richardson flies to Kolkata on the 10th January 2025 where she will be teaching at Scott Lane School and has also been asked to organise the final sports day event. This is where all the schools involved in the project - over 400 children come together for a fun day of sports, entertainment and food.
Keep checking her daily blog while she is out in India.

Unfortunately Ada Bellfield have had to cancel our planned Choir concert scheduled for Thursday 12th December.
They are really sorry to have to do this at short notice and appreciate the upset that it causes to the children and the residents and haven't made the decision lightly.
We hope to re-arrange an event later in the school year if we are able to.
Children that were due to go to Ada Belfield will now have a morning in school as normal.
Christmas festivities
Annual trip to the cinema - Thanks to the PTFA for funding this. The calendar has details of when your children are walking to the Ritz cinema in Belper. CLICK HERE. If you are able to help us walk to the cinema, please let your child’s class teacher know.
Nativity tickets – Every child in reception, year1 and year 2 will be given two tickets for each performance. These will be coming home in a couple of weeks. Preschool children are able to attend without a ticket, but may need to sit on an adult’s lap.
Christmas uniforms- We look forward to the last week of term where children are able to celebrate Christmas with any festive additions to their uniform such as headbands and hair ties. Until then children are to continue to wear uniform as they normally do all year.
Christmas jumper day – Wednesday 18th December. Children are invited to wear a Christmas Jumper on our Christmas dinner day. They are also invited to earn a bit of pocket money by doing a job around the house to bring a small donation into school that we will use to help purchase some teaching resources to take out to Scott Lane Primary School in Kolkata. Mrs. Richardson travels to Kolkata in January 2025 and it would be lovely for her to be able to take some new classroom resources out with her, funded by our children.
Carol Concert – Monday 16th December. No tickets are needed. All families are invited to our annual carol concert at St. Peter’s church at 7pm. Our choir will be singing, and Heage Brass Band will be playing to make this a very traditional start to the last week of term.
Christmas Disco – Many thanks to our PTFA for organising this to take place on Thursday 12th December after school. Details are on the PTFA webpage and the school calendar page.

If any parents could come with a snow shovel to help clear paths around school for a few minutes this morning that would be appreciated :). Thank you
