  • Harvest festival at school not church

    Thu 20 Oct 2022

Due to the very heavy rain showers this morning we have made the difficult choice not to have our harvest festival at church today.

Parents and friends that were going to go to church to watch our service are invited to come to school instead and watch the service at 10am.

    Thank you for your support.

    Mr. Averis

  • Lost Property

Mon 17 Oct 2022 Mrs Carvell

A considerable amount of unnamed lost property has been put out in the

hall for you to take a look through during parent's' evenings this week.

Due to limited space in school at the moment we will not be able to keep

this so advise you to take a look if you are missing anything before it is

donated to the PTFA for them to sell in the future.

    Thank you

    Mrs Carvell

  • Reception phonics and reading evening

    Fri 14 Oct 2022

Many thanks to all the families that came to the phonics and reading evening this week on Tuesday 11th October. Mrs. Richardson has shared all the information and resources on our website to help parents carry on supporting their children at home. CLICK HERE.
If you would like any print outs of the information please let Mrs. Richardson or Miss Bridges know and we'll try to send information home.

  • Google Classroom log in

    Fri 30 Sep 2022

Children have brought home a letter this week with information about their new google classroom log on names. The new log on will go live over the weekend and should all be in place by 9am on Monday morning.

We have made the names much shorter to help the children log on more easily. The new log on now finishes with

    @stjbelper.uk

    instead of

    @st-johnscofe.derbyshire.sch.uk

We're sure that you agree that this will help all our children, especially the younger ones. Everything else stays the same, the name before the @ and their password. Your individual personal letter has all the details. If you have any questions please speak to the class teacher in the first instance who will be able to help.

  • PTFA meeting

    Mon 26 Sep 2022

We are inviting all parents to our next PTFA meeting on Tuesday 18th October at 7.30pm. This very brief meeting will take place in the school hall and will be an opportunity for parents to vote for three new members to join our committee.

I am pleased to share that as we say goodbye to our outgoing committee we have received three nominations for the roles of Chair, Treasurer and Clerk. Many thanks to Coral Williams, Jo Procter and Rebekah Jones for wanting to support the school this year and ensure that our PTFA continues to help children enjoy the treats and events you fund and organise.

See you on Tuesday 18th at 7.30pm.

  • Building work - Autumn 2022

    Thu 22 Sep 2022

From Monday 26th September, children will not be able to come into school and leave school via the normal side gate but will be using the big double gates from the bottom car park instead.

All the information and a map of school showing the changes are on our website. CLICK HERE

  • Book of Condolence

    Mon 12 Sep 2022

In memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II we are inviting families to write in our book of condolence. This book will then be kept in school archives, joining historical documents that date back 140 years, providing a fascinating insight into life at St. John's since the 1880's.

Families and visitors are able to contribute to the book during the day, when it will be kept in the school entrance area, or at the end of the day when we will move it onto the playground. We encourage children and parents to write their message together.

The book will be open from Tuesday 13th September and will remain open every day, until all families that wish to have been able to contribute.
