We have unfortunately had another confirmed case of COVID-19 in our community. We have spoken to the person who has tested positive to wish them a speedy and safe recovery.
Children in year 3 and year 6 have brought home a copy of a letter published on our website today. Parents of all children need to read it. CLICK HERE.
Throughout the day we have been working with the Local Authority and Public Health who have helped us ensure that we continue to follow procedures and guidelines to keep us all as safe as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
Many thanks to all the children that have contributed to our Children in Need appeal. A huge and special thanks to all the children that have done a pocket money job to earn a bit of money to donate to Children in Need.
All of these children are super stars.
I hope that parents and carers have enjoyed a little bit of help around the home and then added a little contribution to our children in need on line appeal.
If your children have done a few jobs to earn a bit of pocket money you are invited to CLICK HERE to donate some pocket money to Children in Need. Please do not donate money that hasn't been earned by a child, we really want the children to feel like they are doing something to help. Thank you.
On Monday 16th November we begin our anti-bullying week at St. John's. During the week we will be promoting our anti-bullying programme and strategies, helping children recognise how harmful bullying can be and promoting what children need to do if they are getting bullied.
We start the week with our annual odd socks day. Everyone will be encouraged to wear odd socks for the day to help us show how we can all be different but still work and play together happily and successfully.
Our daily before school sports club, run by Premier Education (formally Premier Sports) runs every day from 7.45am to 8.45am in our school hall.
At present a handful of children attend every day. The children that arrive are in their year group bubbles for the session.
Premier Education have let us know that due to the low number of pupils attending every day that they may unfortunately have to cancel the club. Can parents that want to use this before school club please make their booking for the next few weeks now, so that Premier Education can assess demand to help them make a decision. If more children attend then they will be able to continue running the club.

To help bring some sunshine and smiles when times may be difficult it is great to be able to share this poster sent to us by a local resident.
Please feel free to print, colour, display and share.

We have been informed today of a positive case of COVID-19 in our school community. Our thoughts and best wishes are with the family and we wish them a healthy recovery.
We have contacted the Department for Education and Public Health England this morning who have told us to do the following in order to keep all children, staff and our community as safe as possible. The Department for Education have recognised that this positive case is not linked to the positive case in our year 4 bubble.
All parents and carers are invited to read this letter. CLICK HERE.

1) All year 4 children need to isolate for 14 days from the 14th October.
2) The rest of the school remains open as normal with us continuing with our COVID-19 safety measures in place.
YEAR 4 PARENTS AND CARERS
PARENTS AND CARERS OF CHILDREN IN ALL OTHER YEAR GROUPS
Many thanks to all of the parents and carers who took part in our virtual parent evenings this week. In the last three evenings over 400 parents have had the opportunity to speak to their child's class teacher over the phone or face to face via an online video link. We are very pleased that, despite COVID-19 we have been able to spend time celebrating your children's work with you and sharing ideas as to how we can continue to help them throughout the year.
It was the first time that we have had to run parents evening in this manner. Thank you for your patience if any technical glitches disrupted your appointment. We have learned several lessons ourselves this week and will use this to help us next time.
Parents that missed the deadline of 9am on Tuesday 6th October to book an appointment at next week's parent/carer meetings have a second opportunity to book.
Information about the second opportunity and a link to the second form are on our website. CLICK HERE.
This second opportunity closes at 9am on Friday 9th October.
