Parents of children in year 6 are invited to a prom meeting. The meeting will be at 7pm on Wednesday 5th February at the Greyhound Inn in Belper.
Prom meetings are an opportunity for parents of children in year 6 to work together to organise the annual prom that their children then get to enjoy before they leave St. John's. We hope that this year the event will be able to take place on the evening of Friday 18th July.
The PTFA donate some money to the prom committee, but the event is organised and run by parents, not by the PTFA.
In 2024 we ran a safer street Road Closure on Laund Nook. On the 20th June Laund Nook was closed at the start of the day and the end of the day for school traffic. We received lots of support for this and many families fed back that it was a great, safe way to start and end the school day.
We are considering running a sequence of similar days in March and hope to have 4 'Walking Wednesdays' when we will repeat the safer street work we did in June. These will take place on March the 5th, 12th 19th and 26th.

The Kolkata Companions helped lead collective worship on Monday this week to the whole school where they spoke about generosity around the world. The children did a brilliant job reminding us all about Christmas jumper day on Wednesday.
All the children in school looked fantastic in their jumpers, and we raised an amazing £250.80 for Scott Lane School in Kolkata, India.
Mrs Richardson flies to Kolkata on the 10th January 2025 where she will be teaching at Scott Lane School and has also been asked to organise the final sports day event. This is where all the schools involved in the project - over 400 children come together for a fun day of sports, entertainment and food.
Keep checking her daily blog while she is out in India.

Unfortunately Ada Bellfield have had to cancel our planned Choir concert scheduled for Thursday 12th December.
They are really sorry to have to do this at short notice and appreciate the upset that it causes to the children and the residents and haven't made the decision lightly.
We hope to re-arrange an event later in the school year if we are able to.
Children that were due to go to Ada Belfield will now have a morning in school as normal.
