The children and staff enjoyed a brilliant day raising money for Children in Need, which has exceeded last year's total. It wouldn't be the success it is without your support, your wonderful contributions and donations, and I feel incredibly proud of the children and what they achieved to help others.

 

The total amount raised will be released shortly.

During the weekend of the 17th and 18th November we are having some upgrading work carried out on our computer network system in school. We have been told that we may have some down time when we are unable to access emails.

Please be aware of this if contacting staff over the weekend as we may not be able to access or send email messages until Monday morning.

Children return to school after their half term break on Monday 5th November at 9.00am.

Derbyshire LA have asked us to bring this letter and opportunity to the attention of parents of children with Special Education Needs.

Mrs. Heer is our SENDCO (Special Education Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator) and works with these families on a regular basis. She will be able to provide more help if you have any questions.

Secondary school applications are now open for year 6 children. A leaflet with information on the application process along with a pack from Belper School, was given to all year 6 children last week (week ending 14/09/18) to bring home. Further information can be found at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions. The closing date for submission of applications is 31st October 2018.  

In May we sent out letters to all parents asking you to return a form giving us permission to add your mobile phone numbers to the the Teachers2Parents text service we use. We had to do this due to GDPR regulations.

 

Many parents have chosen not to return this form, which means that they will be removed from this service. If you have not returned your form, but would like to remian on the text to parents service you can print off the form sent home in May and return it to school. CLICK HERE.

Was your child born between 1.9.14 and 31.8.15? If so they'll be starting school in September 2019. We've updated our admissions page with information about what to do next and published some tour dates of when you and your child are welcome to come and have a look around our school.

We have been told today that Children's Choice will be closing their shop in Belper in a couple of weeks as they move their business to a new premises, launch a new online purchasing system and become part of Loop schoolwear.

Over the coming weeks we will be able to share more information as we get it, however we have been assured that Loop Schoolwear still want to serve the St. John's communty and that they look forward to hosting 'pop up' shops at events at school.
