Children brought home a leaflet on Friday 7th Sept for parents that drive to school. When parking please do so carefully with consideration to neighbours and other road and pavement users.
We all want our children to get to school and go home safely and your careful parking will help us do this.
As we now begin the final two weeks of your child's time at St John's, there are one or two important events for you too be aware of:
Thursday 12th July - Belper Meadows Cricket Day
Tuesday 17th July - Sex Education Lessons
Thursday 19th July - Leavers' Service
Please see the Year 6 class page for the details.
Many thanks for all of your support. We are really pleased that we have enough gazebos to allow infant sport afternoon to go ahead as planned on Friday 6th July.
If you are bringing a gazebo to school please bring it any time before 1pm where we will be able to direct you to wear we will ask you to put it up and peg it down.
All of the children have spent Wednesday morning with their new teachers in their new classrooms. You can find a list of where all the teachers are in September 2018 on our staff list page and you will be able to find where their classrooms are on our plan of the school page.
All of the children are looking forward to coming home tonight to tell you who there new teachers are.
Please be aware that school reports are coming home on Thursday 12th July.
Sport afternoon - gazebo help required again - we had lots of brilliant support last week
We hope to have our Infant Sport afternoon on Friday 6th July as planned. However, the weather forecast is for continued hot weather and we need to ensure that we have enough shade for us to enjoy an exciting and safe afternoon.
Many thanks to all the parents that have offered to come to school and put up a gazebo on Friday morning. I am very pleased that we have enough to carry on with sport afternoon as planned.
We look forward to seeing all the helpers that have offered help on Friday morning and directing them to where their gazebo needs to go. Staff will direct parents to where we would like them to put their gazebo up.
Please remember to take down and take your gazebo home at the end of the day as we don't want any to get damaged over the weekend.
We hope to have our Junior Sport afternoon on Friday 29th June as planned. However, the weather forecast is for continued hot weather and we need to ensure that we have enough shade for us to enjoy an exciting and safe afternoon.
For the sport afternoon to go ahead we need to have at least 15 gazebos set up on the playing field. With the shade that these and the trees provide we will be able to have children and families sit safely in the shade whilst not racing.
If you are able to bring a gazebo to school and put it up on the playing field on Friday morning before 1pm please ring school to let Mrs. Howis know as soon as possible. Once we have had 15 offers of help we will be able to confirm that sport afternoon can carry on. You will then need to take down your gazebo at the end of the afternoon at 3.30pm.
If we have not had 15 offers of help by 9.30am on Thursday morning and the forecast is still for hot weather we will unfortunately have to postpone junior sport afternoon.
Thankyou for any help or support you are able to give us in helping sport afternoon go ahead as planned.
