  • What's on - Week beginning 7th November

    Parent association meeting at the Greyhound Inn starting at 7.30pm. All welcome to come and help our school.

     

    Reception children hearing tests on Tuesday morning.

     

    Infant film night on Thursday 10th November at 5.30pm. Tickets on sale this week at school.

     

    2 minute silence at 11am on Friday 11th November.

  • Pop UK concert letters

    Pop UK concert letters are coming home today, Friday 30th Sept. Your child will either be bringing home and pink or a blue letter depending on what year they are in and which night they are performing on.  (Please note that Y6 children are bringing home two letters as they are performing on both nights).

    Please make sure you return your ticket request and CD order form to school by Wednesday 12th October at the latest. When returning the forms please return them on the pink and blue slips that they came home with as this will help us in organising ticket allocation. Thank you.

  • Carol Concert date moved

    Please note that our Carol Concert will take place on Monday 12th December at 7.30pm and not Tuesday 13th December.

  • 1st PTFA meeting of year, Wed 14th Sept

    We have our first PTFA meeting of the year on Wednesday 14th September at 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend this very important meeting to be held at school. We need the support of new parents and friends to help ensure that we are able to continue with our much loved Discos, film nights, Proms, summer fayres etc.

    Children are bringing home a letter on Tuesday with the agenda for the meeting, but you can download a copy from our web site. CLICK HERE.

  • After school clubs

  • Before school sport club.

    Our before school sport club run by Premier Sport will start on Tuesday 6th September at 7.45 am as usual.

    We will welcome two new staff from Premier Sport to run the club.

    • Zenna Rhodes will be running the club on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
    • Charlotte Ward will be running the club on Mondays and Fridays.

    If your child has already attended we look forward to seeing you again. If you would like your child to start you need to bring a copy of the completed letter that you can print off from our website. CLICK HERE to download your copy.

  • Vacancies at St. John's

    We have three vacancies for midday supervisors (two posts) and a senior midday supervisor to come and join our team. All jobs are term time and would suit any one who has young children at school and wants to work during the school day and during term time only.

  • Good luck year 6

    Well done to all the year six children who have finished off your last few days with us in style. Your behaviour has been brilliant, your attitude has been awesome and the memories you have left us with are magnificent.

    Good luck in year seven - you have shown all of us at St. John's that you will succeed at secondary school and do yourselves proud as you continue through school life.

The game is designed to be exciting and challenging for children, but there are some, potentially, significant costs and safety concerns that this easy to read leaflet will help parents address with you children.   • Welcome the new Bishop

    I enclose a message from the Diocese of Derbyshire below regarding the welcoming of Derbyshire's new bishop.

     

    Welcome Bishop Jan to Derbyshire

     

    For her Welcome Service on Wednesday 7th September (Derby Cathedral, 7pm) we are asking children to send her a postcard explaining why Derbyshire is an amazing place to live.

     

     A template is attached,  we ask that they draw a picture and write a short message and send them to us by 26 August.  CLICK HERE.

     

    They can be sent by email to communications@derby.anglican.org or posted to us: Communications Office, Derby Church House, Full Street, Derby, DE1 3DR. 

     

    Please include the child’s name, age, School or church and a contact email address for a parent or guardian / teacher. If the child would be interested in reading out their message at the service please let us know.
