Derbyshire Alert is the community messaging system for the whole of Derbyshire.
As you may know, I regularly share information/alerts through the weekly email that Mr Averis sends out each Friday but would like to make you aware that you can register for this service to receive updates directly.
By registering, you can receive news and appeals, local crime information, and prevention advice direct to your email address.
Registration is completely free and not only allows you to receive messages about your local area, but also allows you to feed back information to your local policing teams to help them better look after your neighbourhood.

We are looking forward to welcoming new children and families to St. John's in September 2023.
Parents that have had a letter from the local authority allocating their child a place at St. John's are invited to visit our admissions page. Here you find find information about what will happen over the next few months as we begin to work together. CLICK HERE.
Industrial Action - April and May 2023
We have published a letter to help families make plans for the planned industrial action on Thursday 27th April and Tuesday 2nd May. CLICK HERE.
I’m sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child at short notice, and that they will experience disruption to their education. I understand that this situation may be frustrating, but hope that sharing the information I have, as it stands today, helps you in making arrangements as soon as possible.
Mrs. Karen Clark is one of our parent governors. She joined the governing body on the 1st May 2019, her term of office is due to finish on 1st May 2023. Karen would like to carry on in her role of parent governor. However, whenever a parent governor term of office ends all parents have an opportunity to express an interest in joining the governing body.
As Karen would like to continue, any parents that does put their name forward would then enter a ballot with Karen. All parents would then get to vote on who should join our governing body for the next four years. We would hold this ballot after the easter holidays.
Parents that would like to find out more about the role of governor are invited to go to our website where you will find further links and a parent nomination form. CLICK HERE.
We would then need to have your nominations received in school by 12pm on Friday 31st March. Please send them to the school office in a sealed envelope addressed for the attention of the Chair of Governors.
School is closed today - Friday 10th March.
We are sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause.
Teachers will be sharing lessons and work on google classrooms for children to access.
More information will be shared shortly.
Update - 11.40am
Due to the weather any parents that need to collect children are able to do so.
Please come to the front of school and we will bring your child to you as soon as possible. You do not need to ring school to come and collect your child.
Your child's attendance will not be affected. This afternoon's attendance at school is being recorded as a partial closure which means that children collected early today are still potentially able to get a 100% attendance score at the end of the year.
All other children are able to stay in school safely until 3.30pm and collected as normal.
Thursday 9th March - 10.50am
School is open as normal and children are safe at St. John's. We will continue to review the weather throughout the day.
Our extreme weather statement will hopefully help parents understand how we work to keep everyone safe at school during periods of extreme weather.
We have published a letter today to help families prepare for the planned industrial action on Wednesday and Thursday 15th and 16th March 2023.
Please be aware that as with all industrial action circumstances may change at short notice. If this happens we will share information with parents as soon as possible.
